We had our friend Louise Harrison over for a belated birthday dinner on Monday night. We were unable to go to her party on the 23rd of February due to Jones having his first fever - he had a fever of 103 for a few hours, completely out of the blue, which freaked us out and kept us housebound for the weekend. We were supposed to bring a chocolate cake. Feeling sad that we didn't make it (the cake or to the party) we made a belated birthday cake for our sup on Monday.
Here's the thing: Jones was really into watching me bake the thing. It was pretty amazing. He sat in his sling and reached out to stir things and then sat on his blanket and stared at me separating eggs, icing the thing, and doing the dishes afterwards, which he likes to help with...do we have a super chef in the making?!
